While mental health services are best practiced in a face-to-face setting when possible, maintaining communication and services with your provider is imperative for the best outcomes.
Clarity Clinic NWI is committed to providing telehealth options for our clients when face-to-face services are not feasible.

It is the use of technology such as computers and mobile devices to provide psychiatric and mental health services without the need to come into the office.

How do I know if my insurance plan covers telehealth services?
If you are interested in scheduling a telehealth session, please contact our registration department at (219) 595-0043.
What are the costs for Telehealth services?
Your out-of-pocket cost will be the same, or less than in-person psychiatry or mental health services. Clients will still be required to pay co-pays or co-insurance charges at the time of service, as well as deductibles.
How do I pay my copay if I don't check in at the office?
Patients will be asked to sign a Credit Card Authorization Form so that copays can be automatically charged for your visit.
How do I schedule a Telehealth appointment with a Clarity provider
Once insurance coverage is confirmed, telehealth services can be requested with your provider by checking the "telehealth" box on a provider's online booking schedule. If booking an appointment by calling our registration, let them know you would like to schedule a telehealth appointment.
Can I schedule an initial psychiatric evaluation through Telehealth services?
To ensure we are offering the highest quality of services, we will request you sign a release for your primary care physician before an initial psychiatry session to obtain your last vitals signs. This is not required on follow-up appointments, but recommended.
Will I receive a bill for Telehealth services?
Telehealth services will be submitted to your insurance company for processing claims. Any costs not covered by your insurance (including deductibles or coinsurance costs) will be charged to you through our billing department – the same as in-person sessions.
What are the next steps once a Telehealth session is scheduled?
You will receive a notice via email or text from the provider (information will be sent to the text or email that was provided on the booking sheet) with instructions on how to join a meeting. A sample email is below:

You can also join a test meeting to familiarize yourself with Zoom.
At your scheduled session time, you will log into the Zoom meeting and "meet" your provider online.
Is Clarity Clinic using HIPAA-compliant software?
Yes, Clarity Clinic will be using Zoom for Healthcare which is listed as a HIPAA-compliant video communication product from HHS.gov. Specific information about this platform can be found here on their website.

What technical capabilities are required for telehealth services?
Telehealth sessions can be conducted via phone or video conferencing using your computer. Telehealth sessions would ideally be done utilizing computer video capabilities to mimic the face-to-face experience of sessions, but providers can conduct sessions via phone if video capabilities are limited.
Will Clarity Clinic NWI be offering Telehealth services indefinitely?
Clarity Clinic will continue to offer telehealth services to meet the demand for flexible and accessible mental health services. However, there can be some limitations regarding medication management due to DEA regulations and controlled substances. Your provider will help you navigate how to obtain certain prescribed medications to ensure we follow all federal and state guidelines.
